Sound Creation
Originally introduced as a set of 10 special Proto Gongs in 1978, and the following year named Sound Creation. These Gongs had unique sound properties: Sun, Moon, Earth, Water, Fire, Fight, Peace, and 3 Chakras (head/chest/abdomen) and explored new realms in sound. Currently however Paiste offers the #3 Earth (in 4 sizes) and the #8, 9, & 10 Chakra Gongs.
Each Sound Creation Gong captures in sound a portion of the Universal Gong. As the universal Gong represents Totality as a Sound Experience, each Sound Creation Gong represents a portion of that Totality, and is therefore best understood in an associative way. Sound Creation Gongs enhance our awareness of basic elemental and emotional polarities and can be used to create balance in a reflective or additive manner.
These gongs have the most distinct voice and character of all Paiste gongs creating rich overtones because their surface is covered with small bumps. These bumps mean the sound vibrations move in unpredictable and explosive ways. They stimulate the mind, heart and senses with expressive, and fascinating sounds. Used for sound therapy, sound baths and meditation because of their varied sound colors and voices offering a wide range of harmonics and frequencies. Typically described as mysterious, knowing, remembering, strengthening, unfathomable and deep.
